Breathing-technique videos claiming to make small drifted creatures 'visible' have become a trend among the city's middle and high school students. On the 23rd, the TDA reiterated its standard position: 'The conditions under which permeation sensitivity emerges remain unexplained, and so-called development methods have no scientific basis.'

The videos claim that breathing in a specific count for three minutes will let viewers see the faint shadow of a small drifted creature near their shoulder or the edge of a desk, and have been rapidly gaining views on streaming sites. A second-year middle school student in the city said, "Not many people actually see anything, but doing it feels oddly calming anyway — that's reason enough." One parent said, "It beats being sold some shady course outright, but I've heard of kids hyperventilating trying to breathe that way, and it worries me."

A TDA official repeated the agency's standard explanation: permeation sensitivity emerges only rarely, and no case of it being induced through breathing exercises has ever been confirmed. The agency urged the same caution it applies to sensitivity-development scams, previously reported. One video creator told reporters the point of the trend was that "nothing bad happens even if you don't see anything" — and the fad looks set to be watched a while longer.
