TDA Beefs Up Monitoring Ahead of the Sept. 21–23 Spring Tide — Not a Full Campaign, but Extra Stations Added

The TDA Forecast Division announced on the 20th that it will add one temporary observation station in the bay area ahead of next week's Sept. 21–23 spring tide. The move follows the previously reported announcement of insurance rate schedules (1.4 to 1.6 times normal) and, while far smaller in scale than early September's dedicated spring-tide observation campaign, reflects the previously reported early-morning reading on the 6th that briefly touched 'Alert'-level values.

Sack-Like Drift Object Found on a Kyobashi Street; Its Old-Weave Cloth Registered as Provisional Lineage 149

At around 8 a.m. on Sept. 11, a sack-like drift object was found on a street in Kyobashi and collected by the TDA. Inside was a bundle of cloth woven in an old-fashioned pattern, whose isotope ratio matched none of the 148 known lineages in the worldline reference database; it has been registered as provisional Lineage 149. No one was hurt, and the roughly 90-minute cordon around the area has been lifted.

Spring-Tide Campaign's Second Day Holds at "Medium," With a Brief Overnight Spike

The intensive spring-tide observation campaign that began on the 5th continued to register "medium" readings in the bay area on its second day, the 6th. A brief overnight reading equivalent to "caution" level was recorded, though it did not last long enough to trigger a formal level change; TDA says it does not read the reading as a sustained rise. The campaign's final day, the 7th, overlaps with Sunday's ceremony.

Spring-Tide Observation Campaign Begins, Bay Index Holding at "Medium" From the Start

TDA's forecasting division began its intensive bay-area observation campaign at 6 a.m. on the 5th, running through the evening of the 7th with two temporary stations and two mobile vehicles, as previously reported. Index readings have held at "medium" levels since the start, somewhat higher than typical for this time of year. No results will be released during the three-day window.

Temporary Stations Ready as Tide-Linked Observation Campaign Begins Tomorrow

Preparations for TDA's intensive bay-area observation campaign, timed to the coming spring tide, were largely complete as of the 4th. Two temporary stations and two mobile observation vehicles have been positioned along the seawall for a run from 6 a.m. on the 5th through the evening of the 7th — the first full test of a tide-correlation theory from Bay Ocean University, whose final day coincides with Arrival Remembrance Day.

Schoolyard's 27 metal spheres match known "Lineage 31" — first in 12 years

Following the arrival of 27 metal spheres in the schoolyard of Sunamachi Third Elementary on the morning of the 1st, the Third Appraisal Center announced on the 2nd that a preliminary analysis matched the material to the already-known "Lineage 31." It is only the fifth confirmed arrival of this lineage in twelve years — an unusually high count among the 147 registered lineages. There is no clue yet to the spheres' purpose, and full appraisal is expected to take months.

A bus stop "one too many" on a Kameido sidewalk, registered as provisional Lineage 148

Around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, a company employee walking home in Kameido 6-chome noticed a metal post resembling a bus-stop sign standing on the sidewalk. Preliminary analysis found its isotopic signature matches none of the 147 lineages in the worldline reference database; it has been registered as provisional Lineage 148.

Twenty-seven metal spheres on a school playground; classes moved indoors for two hours

At about 10 a.m. on Sept. 1, a teacher preparing for a physical education class at Sunamachi Third Municipal Elementary School in the eastern wards found small metal spheres scattered across the playground. The TDA collected 27 of them, three to five centimeters across, as drift objects. Pupils continued lessons indoors for roughly two hours until the recovery ended. No one was hurt.

Spring-tide weekend: TDA concentrates bay observation in first test of the tidal-correlation claim

The TDA's forecast division announced on Sept. 1 that it will run three days of concentrated observation along the bayfront from the 5th, timed to the spring tide, following a Wanyo University analysis that reported a correlation between the bay's permeation index and the tides. It is the first observation program designed specifically to test that claim.

Bay area logs 14th "medium" index day this month

The bay area's permeation index registered "medium" again on the 29th, the 14th such day this month — more than double the normal pace. The TDA forecast office noted for the first time that this "may exceed the range of seasonal variation."

Liquid sealed in Fukagawa drift object "differs from known water"; opening postponed

Regarding the drift object recovered in Fukagawa 2-chome, the Third Appraisal Center announced on the 29th that non-destructive analysis of the liquid sealed inside its container found an isotope ratio differing from known water. The quarantine committee will postpone opening it for now.
