Sakaishio Records announced on the 26th that rakugo performer Kishihachi Ryutei's, 68, new piece 'Window Art' will officially return for the previously reported Kishibe no Uta encore concert (November 14, Bayside Civic Hall), following its September 23 premiere. The performance had been under discussion until today's confirmation.

Sakaishio Records announced the lineup for its November 14 Kishibe no Uta encore concert at Bayside Civic Hall on the 26th, confirming that Kishihachi Ryutei's new rakugo piece "Window Art" — previously reported as still under discussion — will officially return. It will mark the piece's second performance following its outdoor premiere on September 23.

"An indoor stage, and a second telling on top of that, brings its own kind of difficulty," Kishihachi told this paper. "I've said again and again that this piece never settles on a single origin. This time I'll have to be careful not to accidentally settle on one by mistake." Readers who have followed the piece through his column "Kishihachi's Opening" have been waiting for news of its return.

Sakaishio Records said the previously confirmed appearances by Yuki Shirase and Kishibe Seven remain unchanged, with lottery-format ticket registration set to open in early October. Asked about the move from an open-air venue to the indoor Bayside Civic Hall (capacity roughly 1,500), a representative said, "It's a different feeling from the openness of an outdoor stage — we want audiences to enjoy the pacing a proper rakugo stage was built for." Kishihachi himself added, "How 'Window Art' plays out under a roof is honestly something I won't know until I try it."

'Kishibe no Uta' Adds a Nov. 14 Show at the Bay Civic Hall — Shirase, Kishibe Seven Confirmed

Shiosai Records, organizer of the Kishibe no Uta music festival, formally announced on the 25th that it will hold the additional show it had said it was considering. The date is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, at the festival's traditional indoor venue, the Bay Civic Hall, which seats about 1,500. Following the outdoor show on the 23rd that drew roughly 5,300, as previously reported, both Yuki Shirase and Kishibe Seven are confirmed to perform again. Whether rakugo performer Kishihachi Ryutei will reprise his new piece 'Window Art' is still being worked out, with a formal announcement expected soon. Learning from how quickly the last round of tickets sold out, the organizer is switching to a lottery system, with entries opening in early October.

'Kishibe no Uta' Draws About 5,300 to Its First Outdoor Show — Three Debuts, All Delivered

The Kishibe no Uta music festival held its first-ever outdoor show on the night of the 23rd at Kishihama Park. The evening delivered on all three previously announced debuts at once: Yuki Shirase's live performance of her official Shore Lullaby cover, Kishibe Seven's completed tail choreography for their new song 'Ahead of the Light,' and rakugo performer Kishihachi Ryutei's premiere of his new piece 'Window Art.' Organizer Shiosai Records put attendance at roughly 5,300 — more than triple last year's estimated turnout. Rain had been forecast at 20 percent, but none fell from opening to close, and 101-year-old Tane Kishitani, as previously announced, sat in the front row in her role as 'the one who listens.'
